The pump will struggle to generate pressure in the rail if it's filling with air and the injector won't fire. Injectors "leak off or spill" excess fuel. That means each injector will return/spill unused fuel via a bypass and small (rubber) hose attached to each to the pump/filter/tank depending on engine/fuel temps.

I bought the van with a start issue thinking it would be glow plugs, but had it checked out and its not that. Also as ive never had a fiat diesel before i thought it was the norm for a 1.3 to be flat and reluctant to rev with power beyond 3,100 rpm. Stop engine. Open bonnet - to allow heat to escape, it gets very hot in there. Press clutch and accelerator fully and hold down. Start engine. Oct 29, 2021. #1. Hi, I have a problem with the clutch on my Doblo 1.3 multijet 2004. It is very, very difficult to engage any gear especially 1st and reverse and the pedal has to be pressed hard to the floor. There is a lot of free travel and the pedal does not return to its proper position when released but only comes back about halfway.

I've had a look at fiats website, and the new doblo 1.3 multijet is quoted as having 85 bhp, parkers guide says the early 1.3's were only 70 bhp, and were under powered, if your dealer is being evasive with you, I'll bet you its only a 70 bhp model. Jan 28, 2022. #1. Hi All. I'm having a starting issue with my 2L disel mulitjet. When the car is cold it takes several turns of the key to get the engine to catch and when it does it wont rev. If you leave it ticking over for 30seconds it then revs and drives perfectly. Restarting when warm is perfectly normal it's just an issue when cold.
Allow to drain down, check dipstick. Oil warning light is pressure, not quantity. Warning light usually triggers significantly below the min pressure the engine requires. White smoke is usually poorly atomised fuel, usually only at cold start when glowplugs are not functioning properly. White smoke when warm indicates coolant.

Aug 2, 2011. #9. Fiat and Alfa Romeo are collaborating with GM so the engines in new Doblo's could be GM sourced. With regard to later Doblo's (Multijet) the DPF problem can be cured very easily and improve on the original performance.
